Protest California State Tax Increase

Do you think you've been taxed enough? Protest recent tax increase!

California Tax Increase Protest Summary:

Information about series of events that will take place to protest the California tax increase is being circulated via email, which potentially can miss some of the people interested in protesting this increase. As a result, I've decided to put together a basic page that would reach out to wider audience — and pass along the information.

I have to say that I'm not aginst taxes in general. Certain things like roads and public libraries have to be paid for by everyone (even though at the same time programs like welfare can cause mentality shifts creating impotent citizens, which is a topic for another dabate...) However, the tax increase imposed on us on April 1st can not be tolerated.

In the times of tough economy, this increase can result in less purchasing, purchasing out of state via the internet to avoid the sales tax (on the purchasing side of story); this can also drive these of us that live on the tight budgets into the bacruptcy.

While this increase is aimed at patching California budget deficit it will not be beneficial to overall economic health of the state and its citizens — hence the need to show the protest against the measure.
